Each season we host a few parties and events for club members, the players, and their families.
Some of the events (Welcome Party, Holiday Party, Bowling Party) have a cost associated to attend. Party costs vary and will be announced by the board closer to those dates. These events are limited in participant numbers, and tend to fill up quickly.
Based on team availability, event dates are subject to change. Event dates will be kept updated on the THBC calendar, and announced on THBC social media and at general club meetings.
This is a great opportunity to make the players feel welcome to the team. This event features a potluck style meal, with dishes brought by members in attendance. Players work on a craft of some sort for the club to sell at the booth. They then sit at tables with fans to interact. Sometimes (ok, usually always) we have the players do something fun to help introduce themselves. There is usually a bit of time after eating to interact with other members and players.
This event typically includes a specified item donation for the players to choose from. In previous seasons, this has been a tie to add to their wardrobe.
This potluck style event also has a craft session for the players, with their creations sold at the booth (except for that year they made gingerbread houses – those were not preserved). Like at the Welcome Party, players are seated at tables with the members for the meal. We’ve been known to have a special guest with a beard and red suit drop in during Holiday Parties in the past. This special guest has been known to ask the players questions for all to hear.
This event typically includes a sock donation for the players to choose and take with them, as well as a toy drive which has benefitted the Forgotten Children's Fund in past seasons.
In the past, we have been at a location with a bowling alley section that we reserve. Members who are signed up to bowl are assigned to a lane with 1-2 players randomly assigned. This is your chance to get competitive with the players. Prizes for the players for different categories are provided, which increases the competition. This party has been said to be the favorite of many.
This event does not include an item donation, but is our most costly event due to the expenses of bowling, and food is provided for all.
This event is different as it does not guarantee player involvement. For this event, we reserve a space where parents of the players are welcome to come interact with fans and each other. It gives us a chance to spoil them the way we spoil their boys at the other parties. These parents can be quite funny!
For this event, we happily accept donations toward gifts for the parents. For any physical item donated, we request enough for all families to receive one so nobody is left out.
This event is limited only to those who scrapbook throughout the season. Scrapbookers are chosen and assigned players early in the season, to ensure each player’s scrapbook is comprehensive. This party is where scrapbookers have a chance to sit down with the player and go through the book together. As a thank you to the scrapbookers for all the hard work throughout the season, food and refreshments are provided, but there is no cost to attend.
This is a closed event and is not open to general members or the public.
